Yes, that's right another Christmas has come and gone. I hope Santa was good to everyone. The Cold Front DLC has been a blast and has re-invigorated the 33rd on Socom, which is nice. Arms Race is a great new mode that is refreshing, tactical and fun. All the new maps are the JOINT! I REPEAT THE JOINT! This has me excited for the rumored jungle map pack that will be coming down the line. I know for me that Cold Front has extended my Socom life for probably another year. Sad to say but since it dropped I have not played any of the older maps with exception to Frost Fire. Which, let's face it is pretty much a cold front map anyway.
New Factions and weapons are great. Lag has been minimal. I hear the snipers saying that sniping is tougher now which is I guess a good thing and a bad thing depending on which side of the bullet you are on.
TATT and BBR are still part of the 33rd weekly routine but what I have noticed is even on nights other the Tuesday and Wednesday, more 33rd area logging into the Socom than MW2. Last night was a great MW2 night. I really do love the game but the open mic and inability to get us all together easily is frustrating for me. But at the end of the day. Riot Shield + .44 handgun + Throwing knife = tremendous fun. Let alone the rest of the MW2 arsenal. Good times.
Well I guess that is all for today. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a great and safe New Years Celebration.
33rd Brigade Clan. It's everywhere.

It is here!
Happy Days are here again! DLC is here and my DL time is down to an hour and a half. I am going to try and stay up for some Cold Front Fun! It will be great to play in some new maps. There is talk of Delta going Dutch but only time will tell. A representative from the US Navy Seals who requested to remain anonymous said that they did not know what Team McCoy is up to. " Good guys. I'd like to see them stay but hey it's business. If they want to goo Dutch. Let em. " A rumored vote will take place in the next few days to determine if the change of Factions will occur. Stay tuned as we will be reporting shot by shot analysis of the Socom Confrontation: Cold Front. As Judge Mills Lane used to say, " LETS GET IT ON! "

Happy Hump Day
Yes that's right. It is hump day. Wednesday Night BBR will be fun. This last patch helped Socom tremendously. I played for the first time last night. I remarked that it felt like it was a new game. I also joked that it was the game that it should have been over a year ago when they sold it to us. Nonetheless, it was a fun experience. Can't wait for Friday. It should be a good one. Friday night rank. Who's with me. The only thing I hope is that it is not a complete feeding frenzy on the downloading front with all sorts of errors and issues getting it downloaded.
I patiently wait for the DLC and look forward to gaming with the 33rd on a revitaliz3ed Socom game. Two more days.

My Wii-kend
Sunday night. Watching Eagles/Giants game. Got back from my brief ski get-away. Well snowboard get-away would be more appropriate.
Why mention it here you ask? I armed myself with my psp and the Wii. I did not use the psp as I only have FTB2 and although I enjoy it the time was never right. The Wii however was played. I have to say as a social and I mean face to face social gaming system, it is worth having around. I played an old Tiger Woods, 07 I think and one of the "real " hunting games. The hunting one had potential, taking advantage of the gun set up. But my brother and I were impatient and only shot skunks and never saw anything good. I have to say the targeting on the gun-play was interesting. Reason being, is that at times it was spot on. And other times it was " floaty" and frustrating. I also tried Links Crossbow training. Mindless game yet all the while fun. All in all I enjoyed my time with the Wii. Like to say that I will play it more. Right now, it merely collects dust right now beside my PS3. It knows, I know. We like each other well enough. But that won't help the fact that we won't be seeing each other soon. So I bid a fair adieu to you Mr. Wii until the next getaway calls your unique controls, last gen graphics and mediocre game-play into action.
Thanks for the memories.

Stop The Freakin Press
1.6 hit today. Cold Front DLC drop 12/17 with 3 days of $9.99.... sniffle sniffle. There is such a thing a Santy Clause. I read bones' post earlier about this new information on the socom.com blog and I said, "today is a good day."
Seriously though, I don't know about you but this news couldn't have come at a better time. MW2 is the bomb ( see previous post) but some new content for the holidays makes me warm like a nice cup of joe in the morning after snowblowing 8 inches of slush. Winter is here and the new winter maps will be joining the party. 33rd Brigade patiently awaits for 12/17 and I know the week is going to fly by.

MW2 is the....
I love this game. It is a soup to nuts solid title. Campaign mode has been good and truth be told I am not that far into it. Frankly not sure how far I will get. The co-op is addicting as is the multi-player.
Some things that I hear on the all the various forums that make me laugh, cry, scratch my head. For me, I could care less about the emblems and banners. Perks don't bother me much either. Perks are kind of like reality TV, they are a little too much to take and ridiculously cheesy yet all in the same, and in some twisted way very entertaining.
The weapons are great. Targeting sometimes can be funky which I have experienced and heard others mention. Scopes and add-on gear galore this is yet another strong point of Modern Warfare 2. Challenges are nice and will motivate some to use weapons they otherwise wouldn't.
Streaks. What do I have have to say about the streak system and its influence on so called camping... Well there are two schools of thought on this for me. The first is it does. It breeds camping. People who creep in corners lurking in shadows, windows and similar places yield high results and therefore get to call in the big guns. Be it the chopper or the gunships. The results are devastating on the ground. If smells like a fire and smells like a fire. Guess what? Camping happens and it a big part of any online title.
The second school is, that if you are patient enough and I guess wise enough to sit in the shadows and rake up kills. You deserve it. You have played with me, I run out and kill some and die a moment later. Camping for me is sitting still for 12 seconds. My lines are like 12K 23D but it is all good. I could never lurk on MW2. I have tried. Can't do it. I really wish I could. So I kind of envy a good camper I look as it a hunt and tried to get the bead on them as they have their " haunts ". But in the end it all a part of the game. With all that said, I love to play this game. Time passes quickly when you are playing with the 33rd online on MW2.
I would recommend this game to every gamer I know. 33rd or otherwise. Sure, it is not Socom. I don't expect it to be. Never really did. It is a fun, deep, challenging game that fires on all cylinders. I tip my hat to Infinity Ward and their work on the COD and COD Modern Warfare series. I mean throwing knifes, duel wielding, semtex. Cartoon-ey. For sure. Hacky? Maybe? Entertaining and fun? Definitely.
If you made it this far you are a true 33rd Warrior and I thank you... ;)
Thanks,
hizzer getting ready for some good ole Socom TATT! 33rd!
